Solve : Is my power supply big enough??

Answer»

I just put a PC together a week ago and I've been wondering if my psu is the CORRECT size for the build.

My specs:

case:                    RAIDMAX SMILODON ATX-612WB
case fans:            2 120mm; 1 80mm
motherboard:       MSI 770-G45 AM3 AMD 770
CPU:                     AMD PHENOM II X2 555 Black Edition Callisto 3.2GHz (overclocked to 3.6ghz)
Heatsink:              ARCTIC COOLING FREEZER 64 Pro 92mm
GPU:                     MSI GeForce GTX 460 Cyclone 1GB (overclocked)
PSU:                     Ultra Products Lsp550 Lifetime Series Pro 550w
HDD:                     300GB (came with old DELL)
RAM:                     A-DATA Gaming Series 2GB 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600

-also running floppy and DVD/rw drives

Everything seems to run fine, I'm just worried about any future problems I may have. If anymore info is needed I'll be glad to provide it! Thanks.

By size do you mean the 550 watts? That should be fine if it has also got the right pins for the graphics card. How do you like that case ? ? Quote from: Crafty on September 16, 2010, 02:19:20 AM

Yeah I was referring to watt usage....just occurred to me that I worded that oddly .

I really liked being able to lower both sides, made installing the motherboard really easy. Then again, this is the first PC I've put together, so I don't have any experience with other cases. Fans that came with the case are pretty slow...but overall I have had no problems with KEEPING low temperatures. It's a great design...and rugged.
I put higher RPM fans in and a HDD cooler and it made a noticeable difference...

It's a snap to do housekeeping  in as well another plus. What kind of fans are you using? I think I might get new ones.  It's strange to get excited about a case, but that looks like the almost perfect case.  That will be my next one.You will not be dissappointed...
I shopped for approx. 2 months before i decided on that one.
And it had features from cases that were 3 times the price.
Newegg puts them on sale regularly.

My Review from awhile BACK...
