Solve : Is this safe??

Answer»

Just put my external harddrive inside of my chassi, but b4 I start the pc, I'd like to know if this is safe?

Wow, that's some quality workmanship. I'm glad you put so much time into the project. What about heat dissipation? Why not just leave it external?Safe i do not know--innovative though. Why did you want to TAKE an external and make it an internal? Usually the desire is to go the other way. What is the material being used? Are they twist ties? Often twist ties have a metal core and that could represent a problem if they come loose or break and a metal core shorts an adjacent component.truenorth1. I wanted to put the external inside of the pc, because one of my OS's is installed on it (UBUNTU) and it is necessary to bring the external anywhere I go with my pc to be able to start it. just felt easier to have it inside of the pc instead.

2. I'd never dream of putting metal inside my pc. The wire is just thread. Ad that's my consern. I don't think it'll snap, but I'm afraid that it will be IGNITED?WELL i guess time will tell. However GIVEN your obvious concern i am puzzled how that kind of "fix' will enhance your objectives as stated = "Welcome to Felectronix!

Do you have a computer issue?
Do you need help with that issue?
Then you are in the right place!"

Well, I have Felectronix as a fun project, and I like computers, so it was an obvious choise of "site type". My problem with that site is just that the number of members is quite few...How are you planning on dissipating the heat, the external device will not cool sufficiently mounted inside the case and will in all probabilities suffer heat failure on its own.Take the internal drive out of the external drive, than install it as you would any internal hard drive.

installing an external drive inside the case like that is silly. This is really good work form your side.
