Solve : Is This Type of Computer Good for Gaming??

Answer» HI everyone.

So I am new to laptops and processing systems and that stuff, but I want to know if:

HP ProBook 4530s 15.6" Notebook (2.30 GHz Intel Core i3-2350M, 4 GB RAM, 500 GB Hard Drive, DVD+/-RW SuperMulti Drive, WINDOWS 7 Home Premium 64-bit)

is good with games like Minecraft, Garry's mod, FNAF,   and animating minecraft softwares.

It's stats are:

Screen Size 15.6 inches
Screen Resolution 1600 x 900
MAX Screen Resolution 1600 x 900
Processor 2.3 GHz Core i3-2350M
RAM 4 GB DDR3
Hard Drive 500 GB mechanical_hard_drive
Graphics Coprocessor Intel HD Graphics 3000
Wireless TYPE 802.11bgn
Number of USB 2.0 Ports  3

So yeah, sorry about my lack of knowledge but I'd love to know. Thanks! The 4530s was and is a pretty good laptop, we have quite a lot at work and IMO they're excellent, very sturdy.  The models with integrated Intel graphics are not however designed for gaming, they'll handle older games more or less OK but if you can, look for a laptop with a dedicated GPU - the 4530s did come with AMD graphics options so you may be able to find one.
I will say two things though - the 4530s is a few years old so I would hope it's not too expensive, and laptops are not really ideal for gaming, I would advise a desktop unless you absolutely need the mobility.OK, I took callum's advice and now I'm asking if this is good for games like mine craft, Garry's mod, animating and recording softwares

Toshiba Satellite 15.6-Inch Laptop (Intel Core i5 processor, 8 GB DDR3 memory, 1000GB Hard drive, Windows 7 64-bit

Stats:

Intel Core i5 Processor, 8GB Ram, 1000GB Hard Drive
15.6-Inch LED Backlit Screen, Mobile Intel HD graphics
Windows 7 Professional 64-bit
HDMI, Memory Card Reader, USB 3.0,DVD/CD,WIFI
Lithium Ion (45Wh, 4-Cell)
I've merged your topics and moved the thread to the hardware forum.

Again, the system you're proposing has Intel integrated graphics, which aren't amazing for gaming.  Try to look for a system with AMD or Nvidia dedicated graphics as opposed to Intel graphics.I have an ASUS laptop with Mobile Intel HD 3000 graphics and it is able to play games like Minecraft and World of Warcraft, however its not the best at running them. There is OCCASIONAL frame lag because the GPU is not really well suited for gaming. As Calum stated one with an AMD or nVidia dedicated GPU would be better, however run it by us here before buying. I have a Toshiba laptop from 2009 that is a Athlon Dual-core with AMD dedicated GPU and it plays games way better than the ASUS with the Intel HD 3000 GPU. I was hoping that the newer ASUS would replace the Toshiba for gaming, but I overestimated the Intel HD 3000's capabilities. While the new laptop is able to game, its not as smooth running as the Toshiba that is 5 years old for games that I play.
