Solve : Iwill P4GB Motherboard?

Answer»

Some years ago, I used the Iwill P4GB motherboard to build my own system.  I have built my own systems since the mid 1980's.

No problems - until recently.

The clock/calendar LOSES its mind upon shut down.  I looked for a BATTERY in the P4GB manual, but could not find any reference to one.

This is getting to be a major nuisance:  Every time I boot the system, I have to reset the clock.  Most of those times, The calendar is way off in space - all the way from year 1600 to 2400 and years between.

When the calendar fails, my spam/spyware software tells me it has expired.  Everything gets well when I reset the clock.

I have TRIED USING the Internet Time utility, but it does not work reliably - if at all.

Does anybody have any SUGGESTIONS other than buying a new MB and chip??

Yes - I would agree - but where is the thing?  The manual doesn't show it on the board.you dont need a manual to find the battery. assuming you gave the correct model number for your motherboard, the battery location is indicated in the pic below.

Thanks for the photo!

You are absolutely right!!  I don't need the manual!  It is useless - in that there is no mention of the battery in any way shape or form.
