Answer» Just Installed geforce4 mx4000 but moniter goes to standby on boot
have just installed a GeForce mx4000 64mg card to my COMP i then booted and installed the drivers from the driver cd which CAME with it, it then wanted restart after installing and it does ok but then as it just starts to load win screen were you enter your password the moniter goes to standby and i cant get it back on and i dont think there is anything going on in the background. any help would be great. the only way i can get in to win is by going to SAFEMODE
my sys specs
win 98se oem 256 ram 20gb hard drive 15inch relisys moniter 1.3 amd duron pc chips mb m810 the card i just installed is a {Aopen power gpu geforce mx4000} I've had problems like this with my ATI/Radeon 9000 Pro
Even though it came with drivers to use for Windows 98, it did not seem to support it properly.
I moved on to XP and it worked like a dream. The nightmares just came after getting used to XP.
Maybe the resolution is too high to work with, try setting the resolution to 640x320 or 800x600 in safemode and see if that helps.
I don't think I can be of anymore use.I've had situations like this and fixed it.Go to save mode and disable your onboard DISPLAY driver by using the device manager. After that restart the compter and everything will now work like charm. You are responding to a post from 7 years ago. How did you even find it?there has been a lot of "bugmenot users" posting lately.
