Answer» Had a friend who had a dell desktop that WOULD not work(year old). It would not power up so I looked at it and decided it was a power supply or M/B. After trying a P/S that worked determined it was a M/B PROBLEM. Dell sent a new M/B and I installed it. Everything worked, he was happy, TOOK it home and then he turned it on and it did not boot. Next morning I got it back, spent a few moments troubleshooting and then REMEMBERED someone here talking about removing CMOS battery to reset the M/B. And there it was, working again. |
