I already attempted that before you even posted. Thanks anyway, It seems to be okay now but it was wierd earlier. End Key and Delete Key don't seem to work. Sometimes problem happens, sometimes it works then sometimes when it works it switches to not working. Sometimes I get sticky key like mode on Ctrl key when I have not even pressed a key so when typing a document, pressing S is same as Ctrl S, the shortcut key to save document.

It's odd. But right now, apparently I can type but I don't want to have the problem happen again on next reboot of PC and I did get that period issue that came up about a few minutes AGO.  Either a virus or a dodgy keyboard.

Try a POST over in Malware and then if that doesn't help, get/borrow a keyboard to testit's not a virus. already checked and i wonder if it had anything to do with crap getting into my keyboard? that's only thing i can say. Had my computer for almost 2 years and this is first time it happened.

i only know if water gets into it ten that's no good but that's that.keyboard seems to be working better now, i reboot computer and so far keyboard is ressponding fine except for delet and end key which does not bug me at all.Keyboards can die pretty easily, and what you have described sounds like a dying keyboard.

Try another one and see if you have the same problem. Quote from: Carbon Dudeoxide on March 13, 2009, 02:39:16 AM

I right now think my keyboard is fine now. I gave it a good 6 hr or so bit of REST, while giving windows a reinstall after having saved all good files on it and going out and picking up some DINNER and taking a snooze.

I only tried cleaning out dust from within keys but I now unscrewed the keyboard to open its insides and I gave it a good wipe down with a kitchen rag. So far, all keys I need seem to be working. Num Lock is not hacking up anymore and I am typing fine as you might be seeing now. I don't know what happened, I don't have second keyboard to double check but it's all good now.
So wait...the keys that don't work change constantly?

That's a haunted keyboard...no cable damage? plugged in fully/securely? Quote from: Kurtiskain on March 14, 2009, 03:11:20 AM

nah not change constantly. It was just when I pressed m, it would show mn and I was getting that scary little computer on crack issue with the periods suddenly taking over and I can't stop it easily and sometimes, it would be as if toggle key was enabled for the Ctrl button when windows settings clearly shows all toggle key modes disabled.  But it's all good now apparently, will let you guys know if keyboard proceeds down death lane any further and if not, this post ends here.

I SUPPOSE there might have been dust, moisture and various other unknown junk wedged between the keys. Like I said, I gave it a good cleaning, with a damp rag, let it sit while i was gone and now tried again and it seems ok.

Keyboard does not die easily, as I found out and keyboards need rest from now and then. MY dad's old P3 dell from 1999 still working fine, same hardware, same keyboard and it's all good as long as you use it as intended.
