Solve : km400 m2 with 512mb ram pc2700?

Answer»

guys, i badly need HELP...

i wanted more ram so a bought a new memory, kingston 512mb ram pc2700. actually im preferring to buy a 512mb ram pc2100 or pc266 ( i think they are just the same), but unfortunately, it was out of stock. eager to have a new memory, i opted to buy the kingston 512mb ram pc2700 (the seller said to me that it will also work fine with my computer).

so i installed the new memory to my computer and it worked fine. but after 2 days of using it, it started to crash, or sometimes freezes.

i cant put back my old ram because i dont have it anymore. i think my mom threw it away thinking it was a trash. i just cant find it in my room.

then i checked my my motherboard manual and read that it supports or compatible with my new memory. i just cant find why my computer freezes or crashes.

i hardrives are this at the moment:

What does this mean?i mean i have it checked if it is ok. if it is FUNCTIONING properly.just to add more information about my problem... sometimes if the computer did not freeze, its either i'll see the blue screen with says "IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL" or "MEMORY_MANAGEMENT"...

im totally lost what to do with my computer.

The latter sentence causes the first sentence to become rather vague.i have it checked by the store where i bought it. they tested it and said to me that it FUNCTIONS properly. Quote

Try using Slot #2. Perhaps even #3 and #4.Maybe you need to visit ecs elitegroup for a bios upgrade.....

Stop errors: what to do link

http://www.microsoft.com/resources/documentation/Windows/XP/all/reskit/en-us/Default.asp?url=/resources/documentation/Windows/XP/all/reskit/en-us/prmd_stp_hyzf.aspi have tried it.... i already tried transferring it to slot 2, then it is just the same... then transferred it back to slot 1, still, just the same...i think the bios is updated. as of now, ihave the v1.0c... but im not sure about this...Press the del key on boot........what does it list on ram!Make CERTAIN that the correct Front Side Bus speed (FSB) is set in the BIOS. Do not go HIGHER than your CPU or mainboard can handle. Please explain to the poster your wish!

Should the poster require a step by step guide with additional information, then this will not be a problem. It is, after all, what I signed up for, is it? Is it also what you signed up for, Merlin?
