Answer» Hi I have a Toshiba Tecra 8100 Laptop and I have an issue with it. It seems that my battery didn't hold a charge before. So I bought a new one. The problem was fixed and then it started to happen again. Now I can't use my laptop(without the cord) unless if I charge it first and then the charge won't hold for LONG. Any ideas? thanksHmm when you got the new Bat did you leave it to charge for a day or two yes. I left it for LIKE close to 3 days chargingIt may be the POWER cord/charger itself that went bad. If you have an authorised Toshiba repair facility near you take the old battery to them and they'll TEST it ...normally for free. If the old battery charges up you need to replace the charger. Don't tell them this if you don't have to they are prety expensive. That way you can shop around.
