Solve : laptop overheating!?

Answer»

my Fujitsu laptop is always getting really hot and shutting down automatically after about 10 minutes. I've already tried using a cooling FAN underneath it, but it doesn't work. Does anyone have any tips?Does it turn off when it hits a SPECIFIC file, or when you do a specific action? When did this start? Which operating system are you using? Have you made any changes to your system recently?

FlameNo it just starts after a minute of using it. I've had this laptop for about a year and the OVERHEATING started about 10 months ago and started getting really bad recently. I'm using windows xp. No, i haven't made any changes to my system. Is it a manufacturing glitch? If it is under warranty I would contact them pronto. (Actually I would have done that 10 months ago.)Sounds like the onboard cooling fan may be failing. Can you test it? (Some laptops come with software that enables you to turn the fan on at will.)
