Answer» My laptop I got is fairly new only a couple of months old... the problem is this is the second time this problem happend and I am getting concerned because When I take it to school I do not want anything to go wrong. My problem?
At startup my laptop says Ethernet Controller BOOTUP failure and the laptop just keeps trying to detect the ethernet connection I plug in a cable and it says MAC address found it searches then it says bootup failure and RESTART. I used my recovery CD to fix this problem before but I don't want to use it everytime this error occurs >.<
System Specs: Intel Celeron M 1.3ghz RAM: 512 OS: Windows XP home Edition CDROM: Yess Floppy: No Model: Toshiba Satellite M35X series
I just want to know if you think it is a major problem or something minor. The first time I didn't think much of it but the second time 2 months after the first incident... Im getting a little concernedAre you connecting with an ethernet cable or with wireless?I think I figured it out... either my Hard drive fell loose or it is broken >.< Now I just need to open it up... anyone know how to open a laptop? The laptop can't detect the hard drive. Found that out when I used the XP CD.. (No Hard Disk Detected) How could this happen I didnt even drop it I mean i take it in and out of the computer case alot that woundnt cause the hard drive to fall loose would it?The other possibility is that the hard drive has died. I HOPE not, but.....
How old is the laptop? Still under warranty?I know its under warranty still not even a year old yet.. and i brought 2 year warrantie you know because college and accidents. Maybe the cable feel loose I do hear the hard drive... or something I guess its the CPU.. I think the cables might of just fallen off I wonder what screw should i unscrew dont want to pay anyone to fix a simple problem if it is one and I dont want to BREAK mey first laptop like i did with my first desktop in less then a year SOMETIMES if you monkey with them you can void your warranty! I would exercise that option.
