Answer» Hey, I've got a QUESTION. My girlfriend has a HP dv8000, I believe is the specific type computer.
Anyhow, she has a black dot on the screen. It's not a pressure bruise, like it's just one of the LCD lights burnt out. So, I can always take a picutre of the screen and upload it and need be, but it's just a small black dot that no MATTER what window or the mouse or what's over it, it stays there.
My question I guess is, if this is the case, is there anything that can be done to fix it without having to take it in to some store and shell out 8 million dollars to have them look at it, assess it, order some part, fix it, then the labor costs of that as well.It sounds like the screen got a dead pixel. This is not something you can fix yourself. I suggest you CHECK whether HP got a dead pixel warranty. If not she will either have to live with it or GET the screen REPLACED at her expense.
