my laptop when pluged in and power button in pushed all lights go on fan starts then stops hd sounds like it is
going to START but when fan stops so does the hd noise but light remain on
the laptop is a HP dv 1000 w/ xp home 512 ram ive already tested power suppy and ram chips Is this a new laptop? Mr MOMOTOTO,Just take out ur RAM,wipe it and put back in the slot.Restart.thanks for responses the laptop is 3yrs old
i have taken out ram and tested with known GOOD ramalso why would the fan start then stop if it was the ramUMMM!okay so there is no PROBLEM with ur RAm.Good.The second step would be for u to check ur hdd Once.
Have you cleaned the fans and blown the dust out recently......
