my gateway lcd screen has this weird shaded areas at the top where firefox has that tan area to the right of file, edit, view ect. when you look at them they look like a slight pink COLOUR. but you have to look at them to notice them. wondering if anyone has had this before or is my lcd going out.When did this start? Have you made any CHANGES to your system RECENTLY? Do you have virus and spyware protection?

Flameno changes, i noticed it about a month ago. it has not gotten worse but it hasent gotten better. I run norton, Webroot spysweeper, microsoft antispyware, spybot and adware. i am also running zonealarm.

i am thinking that its probably my LCD screen going out or something. i am just wondering if anyone has had this happen as this is my first LCD.Do you have any magnets (e.g. on big, unshielded speakers) anywhere near the monitor?Have you tried updating your video card DRIVERS as well?

Flameno magnets near my screen. i havent updated my drivers for my ati card. i know that they released new ones but these are working fine and i really dont want to upgrade until the new drivers have had a few month in the wild to mature. iv had bad exp. with new releases.Here's a way to test for a MALFUNCTIONING monitor.

find the position controls for your monitor. shift the image around and see if the affected area is just a part of the monitor, or is a video card problem.
