Solve : Lenovo Thinkpad T61 Touchpad button definition and use?

Answer»

I recently acquired a lenovo thinkpad t61 running Windows Vista Business Edition.  I found that the UltraNav program was not installed so after some research I downloaded the correct version, but have not installed it yet because I would like some further information.

1.  There is the little RED stick which allows me to navigate up,down, left, right ... this works but DEPRESSING it as the documention indicates does not produce a mouse click.

2.  There are five buttons on the touchpad, three above the pad and two below.  I have searched high and low and cannot FIND any documentation on the proper use of these buttons.  The bottom two are the left and right mouse click buttons, that is axiomatic.  However the three buttons above the pad INDICATE left and right mouse click and a middle BUTTON ... NO KNOWN USE as yet.

3.  Can anyone provide me with a place to instruct me on how to use what seems to be a great tool?  I have never used or seen documentation on the use of a three button mouse but maybe that would be helpful if someone could point me in the right direction.  I tried Logitech but no luck so far.`

You would think that the operation of the device would be documented in the user guide or reference guide for the T61 both of which I have and neither of which describes the use of the five buttons.
I have played with it but all I can get is the normal PS/2 mouse functions.

I really cannot afford to lose any more hair at my age, so I hope someone and provide helpful information.

THANKS IN ADVANCE!!Use an external mouse.

The wheel mouse has five things. The left and right click, plus the wheel up and down and press.
