Answer» Hi PEOPLE, I need your help again. My daughters ( Lexmark Z600) printer is not working. After installing it via the original disk this morning it printed a successful test page. We then attempted to print a word document and whilst doing this the printer made all the right noises but just fed the paper through half way (which was blank)it then displayed an error message explaining that there is a printer problem. We have also tried to print text from other programs but to no avail. After going through the troubleshooting process we again tried to print a test page but this time we got only the windows SYMBOL and nothing more therefore this was incomplete also. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Graham. Try uninstalling drivers and then reinstalling. Just for peace of mind read the instruction from the printer. Some PRINTERS need to be disconnected from the PC will loading the SW. Hi Midsail, Thanks for the suggestion, will give it a try. It is however an old printer so if we have no joy we may well lash out on a new one.
Cheers,
Graham.Hi people, Just in case other people are as daft as me please read on. The problem I had with this printer has been solved, it just needs a a new BLACK cartridge. This was established by changing font colour on a document and watching it print out PERFECTLY. It also explains it printing the Windows symbol (coloured picture). Hopefully my experience may give other people a lead on anything similar.
(am buying new PSC printer, nearly as cheap as Lexmark cartridges).
Graham.
