Solve : LINK colors error?

Answer»

Hello Sirs

How are you , I am getting numerous knowledge from your website ,actually it’s my first time write you hoping to help me with my questions.

QUESTION 1

I have already started designing a website but the problem is with “LINKS” found on my pages .

When I clicked “ONLY ONE LINK” that takes to my “HOME PAGE/OTHER PAGES” from my “ANY” pages, “ALL OTHER LINKS” that also linked to my “HOME PAGE” Which “I DID NOT CLICKED” will ALSO change together into the color ”PURPLE” that I set up for “VISITED LINK” or vlink.

WHY is that happening and HOW can avoid this error?

Question 2

Must I “INCLUDE ” a “CSS STYLE LINKS CODE” into the TAG that I have already written in the tag ?
Or IS THAT enough to WRITE the CODES ONLY in the tag?

Question 3

Is that mean my WebPages being look like the SAME ON A BROWSER as my pages look LOCAL on my PC ?

I am looking forward hoping to help me soon !

Thank you,
Tamrat .N

Exactly how did you code your vlinks? Are you doing this in your HTML file or in a CSS file? Where is the code placed within the file?

Question 2

Must I “INCLUDE ” a “CSS STYLE LINKS CODE” into the &LT;BODY> TAG that I have already written in the <HEAD> tag ?
Or IS THAT enough to WRITE the CODES ONLY in the <HEAD> tag?
You only need to put it in the section.

Question 3

Is that mean my WebPages being look like the SAME ON A BROWSER as my pages look LOCAL on my PC ?
Yes, assuming the website visitor is using the same browser and a screen resolution that's works well with your layout and you haven't used any very unusual font that the viewer does not have installed. If you're currently only using Internet Explorer on your PC, I'd SUGGEST downloading and installing Firefox and perhaps Opera so that you can test your pages in them, also.
Thank you very much for answering my questions for Q no 2AND 3

but here is a breife sample where i PUT the code for Question no 1

<head>

<style type="text/css">
<!--

a:link {text-decoration:none; color:#0000FF}
a:visited {text-decoration:none; color:#800080}
a:hover {text-decoration:underline; color:#FF0000}

-->
</style>

</head>
Thank you so much again

tamI think maybe the only problem here is that you need to remove , so that you have this:

a:link {text-decoration:none; color:#0000FF}
a:visited {text-decoration:none; color:#800080}
a:hover {text-decoration:underline; color:#FF0000}
