Solve : local disc d: is lost?

Answer»

I encounter a problem here....a laptop had encounter software problem...When i boot the windows, it logged. Windows software was updated over the net and it suddenly crushed...I tried to fixed it manually by turning off the settings so as not to update windows over the net.
but still not fixed....I can still access files...I transferred the document at LOCAL disc d: but after few minutes, a pop-up window appears saying, at first, the local disk i inaccessible.....few minutes after, it is now accessible but the data files were hidden.

I format the laptop and the data files in windows were copied at local disk d: but when i checked the local disk, the data i transferred were not found....any possible reason about this problem? Can anybody help me out with these problem?Quote from: sidi_sphinx1908 on September 15, 2011, 04:53:00 AM

What version of Windows is this?

What anti-virus protection are you using?

What MODEL of laptop?

What kind of partition was D:? Was it a partition you created or was it a SYSTEM restore partition created by the manufacturer? Thanks quaxo...Im using Win7.Anti-virus is avira, model of the laptop is neo basic... I just partitioned local disc D.You did not create an external backup of your files? Its possible that in the installation process they were deleted. Were you able to reinstall Windows and have 2 partitions? Can you right-click/properties D: DRIVE and see Used and Available space?
