Answer» Hi all, can I have my thumb drive locked into read-only in case I intend to use it on a suspected machine? Thanksyea you should be fine. Thanks dude, obviously I MEANT how can I do that, and I think replies are gonna be useful for everyone on this site.It depends on who made the drive. Some have an lock on the side, others you'll probably need a program formy apologies, it was not "obvious to me"
sorry I tried to help...
if you tell me the TYPE of stick it is I can tell you how to lock it
otherwise there are locking utilities out there but there just software so I am not so sure they will really do much good.Hi Squall_01, beyourownit, and all, thanks for your interest and PROMPT reply. Don't bother if there's nothing I can do within the WINDOWS to lock my GENX 1.00 GB Drive that has no locking switch.I dont know about in windows but there are PROGRAMS that you can get.
