Answer» I was ready to buy a replacement. because wouldn't READ cd-r's or regular discs but threw in a memorex cd-rw that I had burned and it played! any clues why it won't read anything else?Some drives/burners only like certain brands of media...this is unfortunately a trial and ERROR issue. I usually borrow/buy one CD of as many types and brands of media when i get a new burner and do a test burn with each. It beats getting stuck with a 50 or 100 pack that won't burn. patio. does the cdrrive read any other DISKS OK......or it just has a problem with burnt disks.Try twisting the disk around a quarter-of a turn......in the DRIVE....>:<
