I have been trying to hunt down a Windows 2000 driver for my HP Omnibook XE2 DC Laptop, which I downgraded from XP Pro to Windows 2000 due to the fact that Windows XP Pro crawled with the PIII 500Mhz and 192MB Ram.
Before upgrading to XP from NT4, to 2000, then XP, I had the modem working under Windows 2000.
I downloaded the NT4 driver DIRECTLY from HP thinking that the NT4 driver MAY WORK under Windows 2000 (NT5), but it causes the system to FREEZE up in which I have to USE a software tool called Goback 3 to revert to a previous healthy boot state.
Searched Driverguide and found some drivers there, but those also did not work. Also searched Windrivers with no luck.
Anyone know of more driver sites or have a HP Omnibook XE2 DC running Windows 2000 to share a Modem driver with me.
The integrated Modem is a ESS Maestro-3.COMM
