Answer» I'm looking for a cheap socket 479 board, preferably one that can overclock although that's not so important. I see them on Ebay quite often, but they're £65+, and that's a bit much for me. All I WANT to do is use this mobile CHIP I have lying around, so I don't want to be paying through the nose for it.
In the same vein, I'm also looking for a socket 754 board that will TAKE a Turion CPU, again I would prefer one that offers oem overclocking options but it's not so important. There's a list here of boards which will apparently work, but again I'm having trouble finding any that are reasonably priced.
If anyone knows of anywhere I could perhaps get these boards from, or sees a good deal, please do let me know, I hate having hardware sitting around doing nothing.Calum, why are you building these ancient computer systems? For 65 Pounds you could buy a brand new board, and the performance difference is absolutely insane. I mean, come on, man! It's not ancient, and I already have a perfectly good computer, check my specs. These are just little side projects to use some of the hardware I already have. I don't want to spend £65 at all, I'm thinking more like £20-30, which isn't bad for a LOW noise system as I have the other parts I need.
