Solve : Lost External Hard Drive?

Answer»

This is why i never trust a USB connection for data retrieval...
If it can easily be removed from the enclosure hook up the drive as an internal slave drive...and how i do that?

Here is what you CAN do now. Look over these.

Buy an external enclosure from a major vendor and likely it will WORK. If not, send it back. They have customers reviews that may be helpful.

I continue to use external HDD with my laptop. Despite all the bad learning experiences. It just tales to long to backup over the network.
And I don't leave the file server on 24/7 anyway.Quote from: bambibunny on December 10, 2010, 06:08:46 AM
1. the reason i have the external drive is so that we did not have to keep all the docs, pics etc on the laptops
2. as it made them REALLY sluggish, i didn't but it so it could sit there and look pretty...
1. Then you run the risk of LOSING everything. It's your computer, do what you want.
2. The laptop hard drive should be much faster than the USB hard drive. Something else is wrong.
