Solve : lost my hard disk during re instalation of windows xp?

Answer»

Hello,
I was re installing windows xp and during the formatting my computer stopped @ 65% and would not continue so I restarted it and when it went back to where I was supposed to be it say's that it cant find the hard disk 0 I dont know what to do can you please help me...First, look in the BIOS to see if the hard drive is seen there. Usually hitting the "DELETE" key gets you in but it depends on the motherboard manufacturer. At boot up look for anything that says Enter BIOS or Setup. If the hard drive is not seen there then the CD will not see it as well. If it is seen then check the boot sequence and make sure the CD is set for the first boot device.

Alan <>< it's no SEEING my hard disk dont know what happened Get free diagnostic tool from your hard drive manufacturer web site: http://www.z-a-recovery.com/ref-vendors.htm1. What service pack level is the Windows XP CD you're using; original, SP1, SP2? Or were you using a System Recovery Partition?

2. What is the total capacity of the hard disk you're using.

3. What is the make and model number of the computer (or motherboard if not a "brand name" computer)? Older computers (BIOS) and operating systems did not provide NATIVE support for very large hard drives.

or
How old is the computer?

4. Follow Broni's advice.
