Answer» i am looking to buy a new video game to entertain myself with and i NARROWED down to two, Lord Of The Rings Online; Shadows of Angmar or world of warcraft, i have done my research but still can't decide. so i would like some 3rd party input on the games. i know that lotro is more quest orientated, and wow is more pvp orientated so, how about a little input
I have way too much experience with WOW (3+ years including one of the initial 1,000 to get in first beta)and a little experience with LOTRO so I believe I can answer your question, which may or may not be bias. First the answer -- I'd go with WOW. Below are some of my reasoning.
- WOW does in fact have better PvP (still not good enough for me though), but it is a much more enjoyable experience than LOTRO. If you're hardcore PvP and can wait you may just want to wait for Warhammer Online or just go with WOW until WAR.
- WOW has the biggest MMO community out there. I guarantee someone you know is already playing it. If you do go with WOW ask around and see what server your friends / family are playing on and join that server.
- WOW has a fantastic website and community. It's had a lot of time to develop.
- WOW has better dungeons although for the non-hardcore MMO player may find it difficult to explore all of them.
- If you've played any of the previous Blizzard games especially WOW you'll have a greater experience being able to play each of the races and explore the world.
- LOTRO has slightly better graphics (it's a NEWER engine) and some better aspects but nothing worth changing for.
I loved my WOW experience best MMO experience I've had (I've played ever MMO out there), I only quit because it was too time consuming and addicting, so be warned. thaks for the input i loved warcraft 3, even diablo 2 lod i was so ADDICTED to them both, all day even on school nights i was up till 3 even 4 in the morning playing, but on the other hand i also thought lotr was the greatest thing till pirates. i suppose 30 dollars for lotro compared to 15 for WoW may effect my decisionnow what can i do to make my gaming experience more smooth, all it does is chop and skip and lag, i have a compaq presario 3R1103WM and I put a ram stick into it, it was the largest one from a new dell that dont work. What type of video card do you have in there how much video RAM?i dont know, where to look for that, but it does have an INTEL(R) Extreme Graphics icon down in the systrayDownload, unzip, install and run Everest Home Edition Everest
Select Computer>Summary from the left hand screen. Right click in the right hand screen & select Copy All Paste the details in here.I tried doing a search on your model number but couldn't come up with anything. However, I'd assume that whatever video card it came with it's not much especially for gaming. You can almost always get a great deal of performance increase if you upgrade the video card to a more top of the line video card.
You don't need to get top of the line or most expensive video card out there. But a decent card with 256MB (HECK probably even 128MB would be better) should be fine. But do at least a little research or read a review on the card you're interested in getting.
Link to new egg video card pagewell i was thinking about getting a nvidia geforce for like 65 bux. but i do have a 82845g intel(R) extreme graphics card and a 82801db ultra ata STORAGE controler -24CB I don't know what the 65 dollar nvidia card is that you're getting but I'd definitely consider upgrading from the 82845g, especially if you're going to be doing a lot of gaming or WOW.to tellyou the truth the one i have works pretty good but at times it tends tolag a littlei love WOW !!
