Answer» Hi guys,
I'm running i7 920 @ 3.5GHz + 5870 CrossfireX @ stock. When i run benchmarks (3dmark11 combined test) I am able to hit an average of 85% on my cpu (all 8 threads) and my two gpus average 97%.
This shows that i'm not being bottlenecked by power.
When i run crysis however, my cpu AVERAGES 25%, and my two gpus average 50%.
I know it's not either my cpu or gpu that's bottlenecking my performance from benchmark tests, so why does my hardware not "try harder".
P.S - When in-game on crysis, there are certain but few areas where my gpus will suddenly jump to 95% for a while, but then it will drop back down to 50%.
EDIT - Framerates when Useages are low = 30 fps APPROX. Frame rates when gpu useage is normal = 70 fps approx. "Very High" Settings 1920x1080 4xAA.you don't mention your framerate...Wouldn't low % USAGE be a good thing?Quote from: Fed on February 18, 2011, 10:31:30 PM Wouldn't low % usage be a good thing?
That was pretty much my thinking as well.Sorry I forgot to mention: Low GPU Useage = 30FPS. Normal GPU Useage = 70 FPS. Very High Settings. 1920x1080. 4xAA.
I've edited in my first post as well. thanks!
