I have a ?......my memory has all of a sudden been half filled. (just your basic machine) I had 30% left one day and the next I was down to 13%. couldn't even defrag. I have deleted all pics and PROGRAMS not in use and reduced restore mem....what next?Are you sure you don't mean hard drive space?
That has more of an affect on defrag capability than memory does.

lol...ya, I guess I mean hd space....yes, my two kids use this machine but I have deleted their temp files wich were huge and I basicaly just SURF and mailWhat is the size of this drive ?

Is there anything else that you can remove ?
And by remove, I mean also burn to CD, anything, to put some headroom back on that drive.

Or, instead of fighting for space on that drive, why not install a second drive ?

Have you done a search to see where the large files are and what they are? We can't do that part for you. You could also DLoad and run Sequoia View which will tell you what and where the most space is being used by what...As mentionwd BEFORE...I use AVG protection with ad-aware for malware problems. I also used spybot and CW shredder to to scan the SYSTEM but have since deleted those programs.
