Answer» Hi Guys,
I have a question regarding memory. I currently have 2x1GB of Corsair PC3500 (DDR438) memory.
This memory is no longer made. I'd like to bump it up to 4GB and the only thing close to compatible is 2x1GB of Corsair PC3200 (DDR400).
The two memories have the same CL and voltage. The only difference is in timing. PC3500 is 2-3-2-6 and the PC3200 is 2-3-3-6.
Is this enough of a difference to matter?
One last ? - can you refer me to a site that determines PSU wattage according to the needs of the PC?
thanks for your time. The answer is that the MHz have to be compatible too. 400 & 438 MHz sticks will not work together.
Thank you for that answer. Hopefully everyone else will learn from my question.Hey bullwinkle, I'm sure glad you posted your question, answered it yourself, and then THANKED yourself for answering your question. That's sssooooo totally cool. though the BIOS should automatically ADJUST to the slower TIMINGS and MHz speed of the slowest sick Quote from: Kurtiskain on January 26, 2009, 11:55:17 PM though the BIOS should automatically adjust to the slower timings and MHz speed of the slowest sick
I hate slow sick. I always prefer projectile vomit.
