Solve : memory compatibility?

Answer»

will my machspeed viper mk8-939a support high and low density RAM?go to www.crucial.com and have it check your system to see what kind of memory you can use.so is 1024 high or low density?Generally speaking most MBoards will get hiccups when you mix the 2.
There are exceptions.
1024 is a size designation of RAM...1024 = 1G of RAM.
What did Crucial tell you ? ?USB Support: 2.x Compliant
Error Detection Support: Non-ECC only
Chipset: VIA K8T890
Supported DRAM Types: DDR SDRAM only
Module Types Supported: Unbuffered only
Max Unbuffered DDR SDRAM: 4096MB
Max Component Density: 1024
184-pin DIMM Banking: 4 (2 BANKS of 2)
Graphics Support: PCI Express x16
thats whay i was confused...Max per stick = 1024 up to a max of 4 sticks for a total of 4096 = 4G of RAM.
I wouldn't suggest mixing high and low density simply because RAM is dirt cheap right now...
Get matched pairs for even better performance.im just wondering...
will high density work or no?
because i have some memory sitting around and it will GIVE me beep codes...
and it is brand new...
