Solve : Memory displays 2.4g but I have 4 g installed?

1.	Solve : Memory displays 2.4g but I have 4 g installed?
Answer» Hi, I have GOT 4 GIG installed in my computer but when it starts it says 2.4g and when I look in the System panel it also says 2.4 gig. I have tried swapping them around and its the same. I now my MOTHERBOARD can take up to 8 gig. I INSTALL 1 it show 1gig I install 2 it shows 2 gig I install 3 it shows 2.4 gig I install 4 it shows 2.4 gig. Its the 1st time I have noticed this but I don't really understand it, do I have to do something else to get it to work.
