I have a fairly "old" PC a Freeway 500. I have been wanting to increase the MEMORY on this from the 512 on it, to see if that helps speed it up a bit, as it would appear to be cheaper than upgrading to a new system.

However I have no clue from the thousands out there what type I require or once the side is open where it needs to be fitted.

If anyone can help me this would be great.

Here's a few general guides. It is VERY simple IF you have the correct RAM.

Actually that's over 17,000,000, but just look at the top 5-6.
Without posting the rest of your system specs, we cannot tell if upgrading the RAM would be the best move for this system. Unless you are gaming or doing special work, more than 512MB RAM doesn't offer quite so much benefit.
