Answer» I have a dell dimension 4500 with 128mB of RAM. I was wanting to add an additional - 512MB PC2100 DDR 266MHz in the spare slot. STILL not much but i am sure it will help my chugger.. I have read and tried to familiarise myself with RAM speed, MHz etc. I WENT to a local computer store to by the RAM described above but they did not have any and the guy said just buy PC2700/333MHZ as it will work fine and just match the lower speed of the original stick. I was skeptical and thought i would check...... thxGo to www.crucial.com and INPUT the model number. You will see exactly what you need. All RAM is not equeal, and speed is not the only variable.
