Solve : Microphone not responding?

So, I have a SONY Dynamic that I PLUGGED in, but in sound recorder it's not responding...Got drivers?I apologize, but I'm not very computer smart. =/

What I can tell you is that it CAME with a CONVERTER and I plugged it into the microphone plug on the back of the TOWER.
