ok so i built my new pc got a intel motherboard and my case has a mic and a speaker ports in front
connected threw a wire to motherboard.

now the mic in the front does not work at all but the speaker works fine.

now in the back the one connected to the board (onboard sound) works but with a odd diffrent sound in the background everytime i restart my pc it changes.

but all the speaker holes are working great just not the microphone holes (holes as in where u plug your mic into) was just all the sudden one day they just stoped working properly any ideas??

OK.. so you said the mic's worked before? Have you tested other mic's in the ports? Have you verified that you didn't mute the mic? Have you run the mic test in the sound control panel?

when did it STOP working? Did you change something? load new software... a game? What have you tried?mic works fine i tryed other mics same prolbem

i have 2 ports for mics one in front (intergrated in case) does not work all the sudden at all
on in back (intergraded on mb) works but has a beeping sound and sometimes a diffrent sound in background

mic was working great for a lil while then all the sudden it did this hasent been fixed sins ( about 3 or 4 days)

i did run the test

no mic isent on mute

i did run the test same results

i did try once reinstalling the audio drivers and i restarted and it then worked i think aright but after i restarted again it did same prolbem now re installing drivers does nothing

iv tryed re installing chip set

it might of been new software i just built this pc alot of software and programs to get back again

Did the mics stop working after installing a new hardware device (LIKE a new video card) or adding new software?

Docno i dont think so im geting a loud beeping NOICE when i talk in the background on the back port

the front port doesent work at al and like i said this board isent even a month old brand new out of the box i was very confused by it i tryed deleating any and all programs possible that i dont know exzactly what they do and i still have same prolbem

also it sometimes get better sometimes gets worse ( the beeping sound) but never go's away

im sure if i went and got a sound card this WOULD solve the prolbem but i dont understand why a brand new MB is doing this


oh also i dont know if this will be helpful but my drivers will not open i put my chip set drivers cd into driver try to open it and it says "the application failed to initialize sucessfully - (E0441203)" this prolbem happends the same time my mic issue appeared when itryed to reinstall drivers now i can right click go into threw explore and INSTALL drivers but that still did nothingguess u guys cant figure this one out then
