Solve : Mineral oil submerged computer?

Answer»

Awesome idea.

http://www.pugetsystems.com/submerged.phpI want one!!!

Getting the LIQUID must be hard though...and expensive...Wow, that's pretty nifty.  Looks like a real pain to make, though. If I had all the PIECES I would make it. Even if I have to cut the acrylic myself.I was about to scream "old news" but then I saw that it was a new project.
Nice, but I imagine they'd have to change the oil every so often, just like a car.i would hope so... and it feaked me out at firstThere has been an ARTICLE in the past on how the oil would damage components and how oil would not be the best way to cool a PC. I wonder why people keep trying; the results aren't very interesting. My air cooled PC runs cooler, was less difficult to build, is just as stable and I haven't wasted any parts by introducing eroding oil..

Now all it needs is fish... (too bad fish dont do well in Mineral oil)

Very neat findthey need a water-cooled system so you could put fishies in it.Good find Nathan.I enjoyed the article.

Or,as an alternative you could have an aquarium and a
computer.

Wait! I ALREADY have that.

Below is how 'Bubba'thinks.

Mineral oil is good if you are constipated.

Perhaps it would speed up the PROCESSES on a computer. Personally i'm with Raptor on this one...a lot of effort for a machine that's no cooler than Raptor's ...or mine.

I'da used peanut butter for those results....
