Answer» Hi, I installed windows xp pro on a system but after the installation was done it won't connect to the internet.....i decided to check out device manager and found some items with a YELLOW question mark beside them....some of them said the drivers wasen't installed....problem is i'm not sure what brand of drivers to get or where to get them...does anyone have any suggestions about a fix for this? or is there something else thats causing this?
( i added a screen shot of the device manager, and a LINK to the systems hardware config to give you guys additional info)

install and post your computer summary, or you can find the listed driver yourself at
www.driverguide.comTravel to Dell's site and enter your service tag # and it will tell you exactly what drivers you NEED for that machine...Ok guys, i went over to Dells website, downloaded all the recomended/urgent network drivers but it still dosent connect via Ethernet, however the wireless components are up and seem functional, any more idea for my next move? can it be a problem hardware wise?
Update: actually it isnt a hardware problem cause i ran UBUNTU's live cd and it connected to the internet just fine. You state you installed the network drivers...Linux may run with these OK... But did you install the MBoard drivers ? ?Windows may need these to see the network adapter Ok, i got the problem corrected, seems i was MAKING an error and mistakingly omitting drivers from dells site that i thought the system didn't need.thanks for all the help.Good to hear you are fixed up and Welcome Aboard !
