Solve : Modem connecting at 28? |
|
Answer» Greetings all, I have a DELL Latitude running windows XP with Intel pentium II, 266 mgz, 128 mb ram, and an xircom ethernet 100 + modem 56. My problem is I cannot connect at 49 speed that my other computer connects at using the same isp and phone LINE. I have gone into control panel - modems and set the connect speed to the highest setting (well above 56), anyone have any ideas? First off... You are SUPPOSED to have at LEAST 256 MB RAM for Windows XP... Who told you that? http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/pro/evaluation/sysreqs.mspx Thanks all for the replys and help. In ANSWER to the questions: Not wireless using the phone line, computer does not seem slow when not on the internet. I will check the line/phone socket...Are you positive it's a 56k modem and not a 28k? |
