Best to go to a retailer in this situation rather than online...I just wanted to quickly add that very, very occasionally I connect at my old, original SPEED but the CONNECTION isn't any faster than when I connect at the 31Kbps. Browsing, downloading, ect. is still extremely slow.Clik Here for a speed test Also visit their main page to see if DSL is available in your area...normally not much higher than dial-up access...I "tried" the speed test. The organizers were so embarrassed they sent a guy to my house to slap my face. In all seriousness, the speedometer only looked to be registering around 700K, if I was reading it right, which I'm not sure I was.What type of connection do you use?Hey, greywolf. It seems no matter what speed my modem says it connects at my download speed never gets above 1.5 Kbps/Did you visit the Homepage above to check for DSL in your area ? ?I haven't checked that yet Patio. I'm pretty sure DSL is available where I live, the only thing stopping me from getting is that after I spent just about every penny I had on college I had to move back in with my parents and haven't been able to find a good, full-time job. Thus my parents are the ones paying the Internet bill. I already feel enough of a freeloader as it is, I would hate to ask for more.it shouldn't be much more than you are CURRENTLY paying...that was my point. |
