I have a PROBLEM with a modem that I have. The drivers are there and working, I have a query for the modem and windows sees the modem. The modem works in other computer towers, but not mine. It does not recognize a dial tone even though I have a good dial tone. I did everything to get this working modem to work in my computer...but nothing. I even bought a new modem and installed it in my computer and the same problem...it does not work. Do you know why?

John Savino......First of all , what operating system are you using. If you PHYSICALLY remove the modem and any drivers. Then shut down and reboot . then shut down and plug the modem into a differant slot if possible and restart.....Does window say that it has detected new hardware and then install it.......Is it PCI or ISA ?
