Solve : Modem noise?

I would LIKE to disable the INTERNAL speakers from making dialing noise when connecting to the Internet. I am RUNNING Xp Home.Well, this is strange... I know that on a LAPTOP I used once, if you turned down/off the volume, the noise was gone... Try it... I'm guessing this is Dial-up?

[glb]Flame[/glb]Keller  ...try this ....CLICK start /control panel ....and make sure its displaying in classic view /Phone and Modem options/ click Modems Tab  / click properties / Modem Tab / now set the Speaker Volume to Off .....then click OK ......... that should do it ..

dl65  I have the volume toggle set  to "off" and that doesn't change a thing.I just re-found what I had found before...

At the bottom of the screen remove "check mark" from "Enable Modem Speakers"
