Solve : Modem Statrs Playing?

My connection disconnects at loading a new page or at starting a download. It also does not load home page of my browser at first go. It has started happening after I downloaded SP2 to Win XP Home.

System Info: Notebook, Acer TravelMate 270, 512 MB Ram, 1.6 Ghz Processor, SiS 650 and SiS 961 Core Logic Chipset and V.90 Modem / 14.4 Fax Modem etc.

Can anyone advise what is happening there.

3. mcafee anti spyware (11 found)

I'd ditch McAfee and GET AVG-Free.I have upgraded from XP Home to XP PRO, in the process I reinstalled modem drivers which helped it function all right. Today it worked OK. I will do a post if it troubled again.

thanks for the help and guidanceI am positive the modem drivers had more to do with it than the version of XP.
