Solve : Monitor curiosity?

I have been USING an AOC for many years.   Recently it seemed to quit working so I put in a back up monitor    It works fine   However after testing  the AOC again  I realized I was getting the message  DVI device not found   There is nothing on the AOC to connect via DVI nor on the computer.     Before I put it out for junk,  does ANYONE have an explanation for this?Whats an AOC ? ? All in One Computer?Just a name brand I would guessIt's not the device...it's Windows just bein Windows...

I get USB device disconnected errors every 2 hours...Is there a DVI CONNECTOR on the motherboard or the GPU?
