Solve : Monitor doesn't come on when PC is powered up?

Answer»

I have a six year old PC with a six month old graphics cards that I added in. I've had triple monitor set up including a TV. I've now removed the second monitor and just have one plus the TV. I usually turn off the "extend my desktop" option in the displays, but it seems that the display configuration reverts when I turn the PC on.

What I know is:
I turn on my computer and the monitor doesn't communicate.
The monitor has power and display.
The graphics card works.
I haven't ever replaced the battery on my MOTHERBOARD, but the time stays correct.
Nothing is yellow on device manager. All drivers were updated about six months ago.
Previously, months ago, my monitor stopped being able to be brought out of SLEEP mode and I had to turn that feature off (that was on the onboard video port).

To get it to work again, I go through dusting the computer, making sure everything is tightly installed, unplugging the power to the computer, moving the cords to different ports, removing the memory and putting it back. I don't know exactly what's working. I think it MIGHT be unplugging the PC and removing the cord from the graphics card port and then plugging it back in and replacing the cord in the port.

Any suggestions? If you can get a visual... Do you have any system restore point before any of the issues? If so try that out.

do you have any other CRT laying AROUND and/or Was there any sort of thunder storm in the past few days/weeks that could of surged you?First of all, system restore will not help you. Second, your post is very confusing. Does the display work at boot or not? Does it work within Windows or not? EXACTLY what is happening.
