Solve : monitor going to sleep?

Answer»

Hello
A friends got a problem with her computer every time she tries to boot up ALTHOUGH it's obvious the computers running within seconds she gets a message no signal going to sleep.
Ive TRIED setting my monitor up on the same computer but get the same message.
The computer is a HP Pavilion a6000 AMD processor running WIN VISTA this is the only information I have on the computer.
Any help would be really appreciated as a lot of her daughters school work is on the computer.
Thanks in advance jhaddIf it does the same with your monitor connected then it's not a monitor setting...
Go to CONTROL Panel and check ALL power saving settings...Thanks for the reply im unable to go to control panel as i'm getting no display on the monitor i just get the message no signal going to sleep.

Response posted prior to caffiene intake...sorry.

Have you tried booting the PC to safemode ? ?...does it do the same thing ?I can't get it to boot in safe mode, I can tell the computer running so probably running in safe mode but nothing on the monitor apart from the message no signal then going to sleep.Quote from: JHADD on September 06, 2013, 10:47:11 AM

How can you tell? If you can just hear the fans etc that does not mean the computer is actually running.

i'm presuming the computer is running the power lights on as well as what I thought was the hard disk running but I get no beeps when I boot the computer up.Quote from: JHADD on September 06, 2013, 11:25:57 AM

(Did you get beeps before when the PC was working normally?) The hard drive will spin if it is getting power but if the CPU and/or the motherboard is dead then you will get no display and no beeps.
I was getting no beeps when I booted up I have since cleared the cmos and now get several beeps but still no display. What is pattern of beeps e.g. 2 LONG 1 short 3 long (etc)?
