Solve : Monitor gone blank?

Answer»

I'm having a problem with a 2 year OLD Sceptre flat panel monitor with pivot. When the monitor is turned on, everything is PICTURE perfect -- for about 2 seconds. The screen then goes blank; although in the right light I can see a very faint image of the desktop. This faint image, along with turning the monitor off and on again for my 2 second view, has enabled me to copy the files I've needed onto a disk for transfer to a laptop. So the system itself if working fine, something is up with the monitor. Any suggestions?Have you tried another monitor to be sure? Also, try updating your video card drivers...

LCD MONITORS dont play NICE when you ask them to run at a resolution that is not the native default as it has to actually emulate it.Actually have you changed/installed ANYTHING at all?
