Solve : Monitor issue - please help!?

Answer»

Hi,

I recently tried to SET up a secondary MONITOR for my pc and gave up as I didn't have a spare d-sub to dvi adapter. Whilst installing the second monitor I moved the input for my PRIMARY monitor to the second dvi output on the back of my pc. After giving up with the idea, I moved my monitor back to the original port but now the computer isn't recognising my original monitor and keeps thinking it is the secondary one as all the drivers for that are installed.

I tried re-installing the drivers for my original monitor but to no avail. Can anyone help me out with this? As you can understand, it's pretty FRUSTRATING having to re-adjust the settings every time I switch the computer on!

Thanks.Try booting into safe mode / go to Device Manager / remove the monitor drivers / reboot.  Make sure you have your monitor in the connection you want to have as the norm.
