Answer» I am wondering if it is just coincidence or if something is wrong with my computer. I have gone through 2 monitors in a year. I do NOT keep the monitor on when the computer is off. It is always: TURN computer on, turn monitor on --- turn computer off, turn monitor off.....
I only have it on maybe 2 hours a day.
Am I just unlucky? I do have power surge protectors etc... Probably just unlucky. Why do you turn the monitor off? All monitors are Energy Star, meaning the computer turns them on and off. When "off" a small amount of electricity is used to enable a fast turn on.Well, it DOES conserve SOMEWHAT electricity... Not much, but a little... If I leave mine on overnight, and press the button in the morning, you can hear that "sizzling" noise, but not as LOUD, or anything... There is no need to keep it on. Hey, I turn mine off every night as well.
[glb]FLAME[/glb]OH. Almost forgot... Have you tried switching brands for your monitor? Maybe you just have a bad brand?
