Solve : monitor not receiving signal?

When I TURN my computer on, my MONITOR will not receive any signal from it.  I am certain the that monitor works, because I tried it on another computer.  My graphics card is built into the motherboard.  It's a Dell Dimension 2400 that's a few years OLD.  I was wondering if this could possibly be a simple problem, or if the motherboard is completely bad.  Any suggestions?Do you have acess to a video card? CHECK your VGA card, there may be some problem with it. Install another one and then check.........
