Answer» This problem has only occured recently, posted it in this SECTION because I THOUGHT it was most suitable, feel FREE to move if its in the wrong one. About a week ago when I tried to boot up, the power came on, fans started spinning, but the monitor stayed on standby, and there were no BIOS beep sounds. I restarted a couple of times, and it eventually fixed itself. This has been continuing over the last week or so, with the amount of restarts required gradually getting more and more until today, when it just died completely. Same problem, but no matter what I do, the monitor STAYS in standby and the power comes on, but nothing more. Any guidance as to what could be causing my problem would be greatly appreciated, thank you very much .Check your video card. Swap it out with a known good one if you can. Sounds to me like it was dying and then died. Is there any power to your monitor at all? Can you try the monitor with ANOTHER computer?
