Solve : Monitor says no signal until windows starts? |
|
Answer» I decided recently to reinstall my copy of xp, but I'm worried about doing so because my computer currently refuses to GIVE me any video signal prior to windows starting. This first started a few months ago, but the video always popped on once XP loaded, so it wasn't a major problem. In October I installed a new GeForce 8600GT, and when I first booted it up with the new CARD, after uninstalling my old drivers, I had video during the boot process for the first time in months. However, once I got the new card all installed it reverted back to no video until windows. I've tried pressing various keys to jig the VGA drivers, like going to the boot menu or setup, but nothing seems to work. I'm worried about trying to reinstall windows because when I run scan disk on my C drive the screen it boots to still doesn't give me any video. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.Seriously? No one's got any IDEAS?you could try a DIFFERENT vedio card, or you could try uninstalling the drivers for your nvidia card and just use onboard graphics. What HAPPENS when you boot up with the XP CD in the CD drive? |
